How it works - Expedition Member
If you are over 18 years of age and don't mind working outdoors, then this is for you. Small groups are assigned to projects for a specified time - one or two weeks. You will receive orientation and general instruction in archaeological field techniques. As time permits, outings and field trips may be arranged to make your ArchaeoExpedition even more interesting.
Experience is not necessary, but people with experience or special skills are encouraged to participate. The archaeologist will assign responsibilities at the site.

Digging is fun, but it can be hard work. Consider kneeling and bending for long periods of time and lifting buckets full of dirt. Each project requires different levels of physical work and these activities are identified in the project descriptions.

ArchaeoExpeditions vary in price and details are also identified in the expedition descriptions. All costs incurred while traveling to and from the project site are not included. Please contact your local travel agent.

ArchaeoExpeditions assist the licensed archaeologist to promote their projects and undertake or continue important research. The public is interested in archaeology; so why not share your knowledge and get some work done at the same time.
